Another Notice to TN Visa Professionals with Green Card Aspirations

Effective July 2, 2007, USCIS will temporarily suspend the Premium Processing Service for Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers. USCIS anticipates a substantial increase in the number of I-140 filings requesting Premium Processing Service because of the availability of immigrant visa numbers for all employment based preference categories (except other workers). These numbers have became available according to the Department of State July 2007 Visa Bulletin.

USCIS claims it would not be able to adequately handle the rush of I-140 petitions requesting Premium Process Services within the required 15 day time frame. The suspension will last until August 1, 2007. At that time USCIS will evaluate whether it will be able to reinstitute Premium Process Services for Form I-140 petitions.
