CBP DENIES TN VISA: RELEVANCE OF DIPLOMA & CRIMINAL ISSUE

Another report of a TN visa denial. This case involved an individual who applied for TN visa status at the Toronto airport for a Graphic Designer position. (Our office was not involved in the preparation of this TN visa application).

This individual held an associate's degrees in Photography. The inspecting officer referred to the Occupational Outlook Handbook and denied the application because the officer did not think the applicant's degree in Photography was sufficiently related to the Graphic Design field.

The officer also discovered that the applicant had a criminal record. While the applicant claimed that he had received a pardon for one offense, and that the other had been dismissed, the officer informed the applicant that he had to provide court documents showing how the cases were resolved.
