USCIS FILING FEE ADJUSTMENT: IMPACT ON TN/TD VISAS

Effective November 23, 2010, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will adjust the government filing fees associated with its immigration applications and petitions. This fee adjustment will have the following impact on the TN/TD visa classification:

  • The filing fee for I-539 applications for an extension of TD visa status or change to TD visa status will decrease from $300 to $290.

  • The filing fee for an I-907 application to request premium processing, which can guarantee a decision on an I-129 petition for TN visa status within 15 calendar days will increase from $1,000 to $1,225.

These filing fee adjustments do not impact applications for TN visa status at the border (for citizens of Canada), which remain $56 (land) / $50 (air). They also do not impact the filing fees for TN visa applications submitted at U.S. consulates (for citizens of Mexico), which remain $140.
