USCIS Filing Tip For Scanned Forms

Now that USCIS has made permanent its policy of accepting scanned copies of signed forms for immigration application filings, applicants (and attorneys) need to ensure that a complete scan is made of all pages of the form. USCIS is issuing Requests for Evidence, or may reject the submission altogether, where, e.g. the scanned copies of the signatory page were cutoff and did not include the form edition date, bar code, and page number section (see screenshot below).  

USCIS’ Tips for Filing Forms by Mail now indicates that applicants must

Ensure that the form edition date and page numbers are visible at the bottom of the printed pages and that all pages have been completed with the same edition of the form. If any of the form’s pages are missing or have been completed with a different edition of the form, we may reject your application.
