Improved Procedure for Reporting USCIS Processing Time

USCIS provides improvements in reporting processing times. Effective immediately, when USCIS completes applications and petitions within its service goal levels it will report that as the processing time.

For example, when a USCIS service level goal is to process a particular kind of case within six months, and the processing time is six months or less, USCIS will show a processing time consistent with the service level goal. Where the USCIS service level goal is 3 month processing, USCIS will show a processing time reflecting that time period if it is meeting that service level goal. When USCIS is not meeting its service level goal, the date posted will reflect the filing date of cases that are being completed.
