TN Visa Approval - Computer Network Architect Under Engineer TN Category</a>
BACKGROUND:
The applicant, a citizen of Mexico, was offered a Computer Network Architect position where he would work at client sites on the design, development, installation, configuration of post-production video systems.
The applicant possessed a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communications from Mexico.
SOLUTION:
In reviewing the applicant’s duties, I concluded that an argument could be made that the position offered fell under the Engineer TN visa category, which includes computer and software engineering positions.
I prepared paperwork to show that position offered fell under the TN category for Engineers, and that the applicant’s education was sufficiently related based on his completion of extensive computer engineering related coursework.
FILING PROCESS:
The applicant presented the application at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, which approved the application and issued a 4-year visa stamp.
